Hello
I’m Nikia Lawson, MA, BSW, BDT/CD(DONA), a highly experienced Certified Birth Doula and Birth Doula Trainer with DONA International. With over 25 years of experience supporting birthing families, I also offer training to aspiring doulas and professionals in perinatal care. I excel as a childbirth and lactation educator, placenta encapsulator, maternal health advocate, and birth business coach.
Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and a Master's Degree in Counseling
Psychology, I offer tailored one-on-one Business Coaching, an online MasterClass, and
leads a private MasterMind Facebook group, catering to professional birth workers who
aspire to 'Earn and Serve.'

My mission bridges the gap between private and community-based birth and
postpartum support, both in terms of business and ministry. I’m dedicated to my local
community through my non-profit organization, The Natural Way Birthing Project
(NWBP). The NWBP provides childbirth and lactation education as well as social
services programs, with a primary goal of reducing maternal and infant mortality in
Tarrant County and the broader Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area.

An active leader and volunteer with DONA International, I served as the President of the
organization and hold the title of DONA Doula of Color Trainer Fellow. With extensive
experience as a childbirth educator since 2007, I've taught classes to numerous
expectant families within community groups and hospitals. I have assisted in the
delivery of hundreds of babies and have also worked as a Women’s Health Specialist
for the City of Fort Worth. Additionally, she is recognized as a State of Texas Approved
Lactation Educator."

I am a proud mother and grandmother who loves to travel and eat out with friends.
